When did you start surfing?
I took one lesson in Hawaii on a short vacation when I was around 13.  I am from Oregon, and wasn't allowed to surf there until I was out of my parents' house.  So I surfed a little in the summer at 18 in Oregon, but really started going the last 3 years living here and in Florida (for the last 2).

Why did you start surfing? 
I have wanted to surf since I first saw it on TV when I was a kid, but I didn't really have the opportunity growing up with non-surfing parents in Oregon.  I have always loved watersports, and it was a dream to me.

Shortboard or longboard?
I ride anything the day permits.  Mainly longboard now.

Where is your favorite place to surf? 
San Onofre and Church's, also Cape Lookout in OR

Who is you favorite shaper?
My husband and I have had 3 longboards shaped by Rob Russo from Oregon.

What's your favorite aspect about SDSL?
I love how all the girls are always stoked about surfing!

Has anyone influenced your surfing?
Definitely anyone who cruises by me on an awesome ride with style!  I watch lots of videos too.

Where have you traveled to surf? 
Costa Rica, Baja, Hawaii, a competition in St. Augustine Florida, all over California and Oregon, and looking for more!!

Have you surfed competitively? If so, what kind of results?
I competed an several contests while living in Florida, and won all those until I made it to regionals in St. Augustine, and had a blown out bad day.  Also won a YMCA contest here this year.  Going to Cardiff Roxy Jam Pro, but just hoping to have a good solid surf day!

How does surfing affect you? 
Definitely keeps me a happier person, I love it!!!

If you were to tell a newbie some advice, what would it be?
Don't give up!  Keep trying on those cold winter days, and you'll end up with some great sessions that will change your life!

What's the weirdest thing you've ever seen or experienced while surfing?
In Florida, huge schools of stingrays would catch the waves and share your rides with you.  Sometimes even run into you!
